Summer Program - Weekly Themes
GOD’S
AMAZING WORLD
We are all
wonderfully made! During this week we will learn about ourselves, our
families and all of God’s wonderful creation. We will hold our own
Junior Olympics and show off our special sports talents! So come join
us as we explore the wonderful world of planets and stars!
BEARS
In addition to the
children’s well known favorite bears including Corduroy Bear, and Three
Bears, We will learn about; Brown Bears, Panda Bears and Polar Bears!
We’ll have a special presentation of “Goldilocks & the Three Bears”
from PNT Puppet Theater.
CIRCUS
The Circus comes
to town! Children will learn how the circus travels from town-to-town,
make their own Big Top, dramatize circus acts, learn about animals of
the circus, make jumbo clowns and jump through hoops of fire (just
kidding!). We will also have our very own CIRCUS complete with an Astro-jump.
There will be face painting and many booths at which to spend your
circus tickets.
DINOSAURS
Brontosaurus,
Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops. We will learn about this
fascinating group of reptiles that once ruled the earth. The children
will study their shapes, sizes, habitat and eating habits.
SEA CREATURES
Whales, dolphins,
sharks and starfish. The children will be learning all about the
creatures in the deep blue sea. We will be identifying parts of a fish,
classifying vertebrate and invertebrate. We may even take a trip to The
Monterey Bay Aquarium and explore the sea life at this wonderful
place!
WATER, WATER,
WATER
Water, water, and
more water! We will learn what makes up water, it’s different phases,
and what sinks and floats in water. We will also have water relay
races, splash around in our mini pools, and have a wet sponge tossing
game. Don’t forget your swimsuit and sunscreen!
FARM
Monarch Christian
School will be transformed into Monarch Christian Farm! We will have a
mini farm with real live animals to feed and pet. We will learn all
about the animals that live on the farm, the food they provide for us,
as well as the many jobs of the farmer. So come on over to the Monarch
Farm.
ZOO SAFARI
We will make our
own binoculars and go on a Zoo Safari with Elsie the Elephant! We will
learn about lions and tigers and bears (oh, my!); giraffes, zebras,
monkeys and alligators. We will even take a bus trip to the Oakland Zoo
to see many different animals up close.
BIRDS
Ever wonder how a
bird flies or how long a baby bird must be inside an egg before it
hatches? These questions and many more will be investigated during our
study of birds. At the end of the week we will witness a performance by
the amazing Happy Birds. This will surely be an eggciting event!

We will have a
visit from our local Fire Department and Police Department during this
week. We’ll end this week with our very own Wheels Day. Children may
bring their bike, scooter, roller blades or skates to school on this
day.
